Modville Set Build
This is our first set build for Mechanical Cake. This was a brazen concept for the Wonder-Con exhibit because of its over-the-top construction compared to the other exhibits. I was given a design concept from Jesse Negron and his Art Director. Using those designs led to some physical impossibilities and required some creative solutions for the final look and construction. The Mechanical Cake set won “people’s choice” award at Wonder-Con in 2025. We are very proud of the result of our construction and finish and look forward to more projects with Mechanical Cake in the future.
Hyde Set Build
Fabrication of the “Hyde” set for Mechanical Cake was a really challenging experience. It began with a conversation with CEO Jesse Negron for a new design. Most of the design ideas developed in our first conversation. Working together of reference materials and elements was pretty loose. The concept was a London underground tunnel Laboratory. Meticulous details about the construction, modularity, weight consideration and scale took some time and required hours of planning.
